RYA will be hosting a local chapter of the Aquafina Pitch, Hit, and Run competition on

 Friday May 9th @ 7PM.  Registrations will start at 6:15PM.

All participants MUST submit a copy of their birth certificate or baptismal record to participate.  You cannot state that RYA has a copy on file and participate.

The Pitch portion of the program will test how accurately a competitor can throw strikes from 45 feet to a designated “Strike Zone” target. A pitch hitting ANY portion of the target will be deemed a strike.

The HIT portion of the program will test a competitor’s ability to hit a baseball from a stationary tee, along a tape measure from home plate, toward straight-away centerfield. Hits will be measured for distance and accuracy.

The RUN portion of the program will measure a competitor’s speed in a sprint from second base, touch third, and across home plate. All Competitors will use 80 foot bases!!!!

In cases of a tie in any portion of the competition there is no tie breaker, ALL TIED COMPETITORS MOVE ON TO SECTIONALS!!!!

Local winners move on to an area sectional competition, sectional winners compete at Texas Rangers Stadium, and Stadium winners will compete in NYC during MLB All-Star week!!!!! I know RYA has the players to go all the way!!!

Eligibility

• The competition is free for all participants.

• All boys and girls, ages 7-14, are welcome to participate.

Age 7/8 July 18, 1999 to July 17, 2001

Age 9/10 July 18, 1997 to July 17, 1999

Age 11/12 July 18, 1995 to July 17, 1997

Age 13/14 July 18, 1993 to July 17, 1995.

• All participants must provide a copy of a valid birth certificate or baptismal record for age verification. Failure to provide proof of age may result in disqualification.

• All participants must submit a signed registration/waiver form to the local administrator.

• Any participant who competes in more than one local competition shall be disqualified.
